Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, classify, and rate new business submissions and renewals to determine insurability, coverage, and pricing
• Manage agency relationships while maintaining a profitable book of business based upon underwriting guidelines
• Maintain daily workflow by analyzing, handling, or forwarding tasks for processing
• Maintain a high level of customer service with quick response times and accurate information (both internally and externally)
• Prepare and present reports to management and Underwriting Committee
• Participate in product development and underwriting projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, an equivalent combination of education and/or professional experience will be considered
• Demonstrated 3-5 years’ experience of professional liability underwriting
• Working knowledge and understanding of professional liability coverage, contracts, and underwriting guidelines
• Proven relationship management expertise
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites with emphasis on Excel and Word

• Ability to contribute to the development and optimization of underwriting processes and guidelines
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
• Willingness to work as necessary, based upon volume of work, to meet company objectives
